DATA4RURAL promotes more competitive and sustainable rural tourism

DATA4RURAL is a European Erasmus+ project that aims to strengthen digital skills and data use in the rural tourism sector, contributing to more sustainable, competitive, and inclusive development of rural areas in Europe.

Through a practical approach geared towards the real needs of the sector, DATA4RURAL supports rural tourism SMEs, local and regional public administrations, and vocational education and training (VET) providers so that they can make better use of digital tools and data in decision-making, territorial planning, and the design of sustainability strategies.

The project begins with a phase of analyzing needs and best practices in different European countries, and relies on the direct participation of rural actors to design training solutions and tools that are truly adapted to the rural context.

AnySolution participates in DATA4RURAL as a strategic partner, contributing its expertise in digital transformation, communication, data platforms, and European projects related to tourism and the territory, with the aim of ensuring that the project's results have a practical and transferable impact.

Target

The main objective of DATA4RURAL is to design and implement an innovative vocational education and training (VET) curriculum that trains rural tourism stakeholders in the use of data and digital technologies for sustainable decision-making.

To this end, the project aims to:

  • Identify the real needs, barriers, and opportunities related to digitization and the use of data in rural tourism.
  • Train companies, administrations, and trainers to improve their digital and data literacy.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration and responsible use of data at the local and regional levels.
  • Reduce the digital divide between rural and urban areas.

Expected results

Among the main results of DATA4RURAL are:

  • A modular and practical VET curriculum tailored to the needs of European rural tourism.
  • Training of trainers, to ensure the scalability and sustainability of the project's impact.
  • An open European learning platform that will integrate training content, practical resources, and use cases.
  • A European community of rural tourism stakeholders that promotes the exchange of knowledge, data, and best practices.
  • Recommendations and methodologies for improving data-driven decision-making in rural settings.

DATA4RURAL will thus contribute to more resilient and sustainable rural tourism that is prepared for the challenges of the digital and green transition, fully aligning with the strategic priorities of the European Union.
